Space on Canvas

Table markers for my sister’s Wedding. There was a loose garden theme as the reception was in my parent’s garden so she asked me to make them look like blackboard plant markers. Also she’s a geek like me so the tables were sci-fi cities…

I do requests and take commissions. Feel free to Inbox me here or get me on twitter @Spaceoncanvas. Or head to my Etsy Shop

How to paint the Earth in 10 Minutes

1. Paint your canvas black

2. Paint a blue circle

3. Add some green and light ochre (don’t get hung up on the geography, you’re going to cover it up in a minute)

4. We live on one cloudy planet so add a load. They’re thick, thin, patchy, swirl around, wisp, all sorts. Just play around with different amounts of paint on your brush and different ways of using it. Stipple, drag it, push it, even try different brushes for different results

5. Stars to remind you we live in space. I use the head of a pin for the smallest ones and the head of a fine brush for the bigger ones.

Enjoy your new picture of where you live!
